Kagan Han (17 August 1988) is a Dutch/Turkish drummer and percussionist. He is known for his ability to adapt to a variety of genres and his ambidextrous and open hand way of playing the drums. In his short music carreer Kagan has already worked with -and shared stages with- great artists like Michael Franti & Spearhead, Oleta Adams, Quincy Jones, Yuri Honing, Reno Steba, Oguz Buyuk Berber and Turkish star Volkan Konak. Kagan made his debute on the North Sea Jazz festival on the age of 15 with his fusion/funk band JustJammin. He also played on other venues like Sail 2005, The Uitmarkt, Amsterdam Concertbuilding, North Sea Jazz festival (twice) and had many TV appearances like on TRT-INT, Pauw & Witteman, KoffieMax, CNN and many more.

Kagan Han was first exposed to the drums at age six. Before that he was always drumming on his mothers kitchen pans. His father bought him a turkish drums called the Darbuka when he was four years old. Because Kagan had so much passion and energy to play the drums, his parents decided to sign him up for drum lessons at the of six. When Kagan first sat behind the drums, he played the drums open-handed. That was kind of strange, because he is a right-handed person. But the teacher decided to let him play this way, a choice that really made Kagan the drummer hat he is today.

Kagan joined his first real band when he was twelve years old. The band was called " Just Jammin ", a jazz funk band with other musicians of arround the same age. What characterized them was their funky way of playing jazz tunes like Footprints, So what, Teen Town, Spain and Cantaloop Island.

They performed just over a 100 times and their most notable performances include a full concert at North Sea Jazz festival, playing at Concertbuilding of Amsterdam (the live broadcast on Dutch television had over 3 million views), their TV debut on Dutch television and the

release of their first album called "So What".

Growing up in music, Kagan started to develop interest in different musical styles such as rap, hiphop, funk, jazz and fusion. At the age of 18 he got accepted as a student to the Conservatory

of Amsterdam (jazz department). He also won several awards and prizes for ensembles, bands and as a solo artist, most notably the Roots & Routes prize, awarded to him by Michael Franti.

Without leaving his music carreer, Kagan started an event and entertainment management in 008. Although Kagan is still new in the event and entertainment industry, he has already booked great artists like Yellow Jackets, Toots Thielemans, Incognito, Mike Stern, Caro Emerald, Candy Dulfer and many more.

In 2010 Kagan signed a deal with the famous cymble company Istanbul Agop. The sound of the Istanbul cymbals matches perfectly with Kagan's style of playing.

Kagan was very pleased to become a part of the Istanbul Agop family and to have collegues like Poogie Bell (Marcus Miller, Erykah Badu) Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz) and Mel Lewis.
